Position Overview:
The Imaging Operations Supervisor integrates clinical expertise and technical skill with compassionate patient care to deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging. This role provides both direct and indirect care services, serves as the onsite contact for imaging-related inquiries, and plays a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and efficient imaging operations. The Supervisor upholds UNC Health Appalachian’s standards and practices within the scope of licensure.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $39.18 /hour.

Compensation is commensurate upon education & experience
- range is $39.
18 /hour or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary onsite contact for imaging modality operations, addressing patient and staff needs.
Deliver both direct and indirect patient care in accordance with regulatory and professional standards.
Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and licensure guidelines for imaging services.
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, leadership, and care teams to ensure seamless service.
Support and lead imaging staff in maintaining a high-performing, patient-centered environment.
Respond promptly and appropriately to patient condition changes and clinical emergencies.
Promote UNC Health Appalachian’s mission, values, and high standards for patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an AMA-accredited education program in radiologic sciences.
Experience:
Two years of experience in CT as a CT Technologist Level II.
Prior experience with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
Required Registration/License/Certification:
Current registration as an RT(R) (CT) is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at the time of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Competent in safe and effective delivery of patient care within the scope of licensure and policies.
Understanding of clinical workflows and patient care operations in imaging environments.
Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and foster a collaborative environment.

Lifts, positions, pushes, pulls, and/or transfers up to and greater than 50 pounds

Bending, squatting, twisting, and turning
Near acuity: the ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less
Working Conditions:
Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases
Frequently exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment, odorous chemicals and, specimens, and unpleasant elements (accident, injury, slippery surfaces, uneven surfaces), etc.
Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) and emergencies
Continuous standing and walking long periods = to or greater than > 8 hours per shift
Speaking, reading, and writing, expanded > 8 hours per day
Exposed to vibration and cramped spaces > 1-hour day
Frequently mobilizes patients > 4 hours per day
Frequently per shift: lifts, carries, pushes, and/or pulls > 50 lbs.
Frequently per hour: bends, squats, kneels, twists, turns and reaches
Frequently per minute: hand, finger, and wrist repetition and moderate dexterity
Frequently per hour: exposed to soft voices > 3 feet away
Frequently per hour: exposed to close eye work
Frequently per shift: may be exposed to Ionizing/nonionizing radiation exposure, including x-ray and microwave.
