Job Description The Senior Director of Operations (Grants) ensures the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of all grant-funded programs operated by Youth Services. This position oversees fiscal policies, reporting compliance, and emergency preparedness in direct collaboration with Youth Services and Association office staff. They are accountable for the successful administration of the YMCA, which includes program development and operations of multi-district afterschool and day camp sites as well as the development of on-site community and family programs. Collaborations with community partners, school systems, the state alliance and public health officials are expected in meeting programmatic needs. The Sr. Director of Operations (Grants) is a key member of service line leadership within the YMCA of Western North Carolina. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, business, or equivalent is required. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Three or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency. Background must include strong skills in human relations, budgeting, sound fiscal management, financial development, program management, and staff supervision and development. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to direct total operations through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budget, marketing, and program development. Experience in management and development of full-time staff; ability to recruit talent. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.

Essential Functions Acts as a surrogate for the VP of Operations in implementing and maintaining compliance with federal programs. (21st century afterschool, CACFP, SFSP) Directly supervise program staff for multi-district grant-funded afterschool programs. Directly supervise the Compliance Coordinator for child nutrition. Participate in the ongoing grant application process to ensure funding for nutrition, afterschool, YMH, and teen initiatives. Models inclusive behaviors and embraces all dimensions of diversity. Ensure all policies, including fiscal, human resources, risk management, and program policies, of the organization are consistently implemented in accordance with grant requirements. Support service line/department in actively working toward association-level objectives, as measured by identified goals/KPIs. Participate in the budgeting process within their service line/department and serve as a good steward of association resources. Ensure that the YMCA of WNC is able to meet community needs for childcare through robust hiring and retention practices, which are assessed regularly for effectiveness. Engage with State and local agencies to effect policy and impact decision making. Provide open feedback to strategic planning efforts and drive the annual operating plan of the service line. Serve as a member of YMCA leadership and support the overall objectives of the YMCA. Perform all other duties as assigned and as they arise. Required Certifications
