PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Operations Supervisor is positioned between the performance requirements of management and the specific challenges of managing their team and their employees. The supervisor must integrate the technical and relational skills that will allow him them to better master the art of leading, to become a key player and thus play a decisive role in the success of the company and organization. Reports to :

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Directs and guides the activities of hourly production staff team on the assigned shift under the direction of the Operations Leader, responsible for the safety and production on the assigned shift in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. Supervise the entire operations of the facility with an aim for high performance Assist with the onboarding process of new hires Implementing dedicated employee training utilizing the department Skill Matrix and progression plan. Provide training and educational materials to staff Ensure compliance with professional standards such as occupational health and safety and customer requirements Maintain a clean and safe working environment according to Company policies. Champion 5s and visual factory on shift leading to improved plant reliability and a reduction in waste generation. Monitor and prioritize workflow of production to meet deadlines Provide direction and schedules to the plant floor according to production demand. Recommends the hiring and releasing of production temps as required to maintain production schedule In connection with other supervisors, establishes accountability and goals used for performance evaluation. Maintaining employee efficiency by creating an environment that fosters productivity and engagement within the shift. Minimizes process downtime through ensuring timely quality and process checks and verification of standards Participate in continuous improvement work groups Identify problems and works with the appropriate functions to create solutions including root cause analysis. Trains, coaches and mentors as part of operator development and growth. Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization Any other duties as assigned by the Operations Leader or the Plant Leader. Confers with the Operations Leaders and Production Planner to establish schedules for production.

JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline preferred Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience leading people in a complex manufacturing environment

EXPERIENCE

: Six Sigma certification and Lean manufacturing experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

: Business and financial acumen Ability to compile and utilize data and/or Six Sigma methods for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs Creating and implementing strategic and operations plans Leading and motivating peers, direct reports and primary workforce Effective with verbal and written communication Strong planning, resourcing and effective delegation skills Able to engage and care for others starting with safety Capable of achieving results fast both individually and through teams 6:45pm – 7:00am 2-2-3
