Job Summary :

Responsible for effectively managing and coordinating activities in the Health Information Management Department related to the scan center processes, deficiency analysis of records for chart completion, release of information, and patient identity integrity processes. Manages the development and monitoring of structure, policies, procedures, and quality control standards in these areas. Works closely with members of the medical staff and other departments regarding chart completion activities or legal releases, information systems regarding process development or system build related to processes. Coordinates workflow for operational areas and provides ongoing education/training for staff based on identified needs through process audits or new/revised regulatory requirements related to medical records (Joint Commission, Federal Conditions of Participation).

Qualifications:

Requires Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management/Administration; RHIA certification (Registered Health Information Administrator) through AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) or eligible to take and complete within 1 year of hire date; 2-4 years of progressive responsibility in a medical record environment. Ability to manage, train, and motivate staff. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, medical records, and regulatory requirements of medical records. Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
