Exempt Summary:
The Operations Manager will provide overall leadership to the warehouse operation.
Job Role/Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership to the various warehouse segments which include receiving, pick/pack and outbound operations. Assign duties, ensure accuracy and conformance to warehouse procedures. Ensure service levels are met on a daily basis. Develop and manage key warehouse metrics. Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow. Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of team. Maintain a high level of quality, keep accurate accounts of time and production, keep production on schedule. Build strong employee morale and create a team environment. Identify employee skills, develop them by coaching and counseling on a regular basis Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback, both positive and constructive. Assist and resolve employee issues. Collaborate with HR on hiring, employee issues, discipline, payroll and other matters. Confer with other supervisors/managers outside of the distribution center to ensure coordination of other warehouse activities Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate inventory. Ensure all employees follow safety protocols and associated record keeping, including material handling of certifications and licensures. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years’ experience managing multifunctional teams, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations and/or Logistics is preferred. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience is required. Microsoft Dynamics365 is a plus! Must be able to interact with team members and develop solid working relationships. Problem solving skills are a must. Extremely proficient working with Word, Excel and Email. Excellent communication skills. Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, reach truck and/or order picker
