This 101-room hotel features 2 meeting rooms with a total of 2,000 square feet of meeting space and a food and beverage operation. Located in the vibrant Lake Norman area, our property offers well-appointed accommodations and a variety of amenities, including complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, and a fitness center, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our guests.
Job Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the hotel, optimizing operations, profitability, sales, marketing, revenue management, guest experience, and quality.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage daily hotel operations to ensure a high standard of service and guest satisfaction.
- Implement Marriott’s operational standards and procedures to maintain brand integrity.
- Work closely with housekeeping supervisors to manage housekeeping operations.
- Develop and enforce housekeeping policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly self-audits to ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards.
- Oversee food and beverage operations, ensuring quality service and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage costs to maximize profitability in all departments.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff across all departments, fostering a positive work environment.
- Create and approve schedules for departments.
- Process payroll and review employee hours.
- Conduct on going performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to encourage professional growth.
- Ensure all staff are knowledgeable about Marriott systems and procedures.
- Prepare and manage the hotel budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Analyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement cost-control measures to enhance profitability.
- They actively participate in weekly revenue management calls, providing insights and direction based on operational performance and market dynamics.
- Analyze comp set and occupancy to set competitive rates for the hotel.
- Engage with guests to ensure their needs are met and resolve any issues promptly.
- Promote a culture of exceptional customer service among all staff members.
- Gather guest feedback to continuously improve services and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Marriott’s policies.
- Implement safety protocols to protect guests and staff, conducting regular safety drills and training.
- Build relationships with local businesses and organizations to enhance the hotel’s presence in the community.
- Maintain very good communication with the above property management team, ensuring alignment on goals and operational strategies.
Qualifications:
- 3+ Years experience Operations Management at Marriott hotel is required.
- 1+ year of Galaxy, Lightspeed, and Empower Experience is required.
- Experience managing food and beverage and housekeeping operations is required.
- A relevant business degree or hospitality diploma is an asset.
- English is required.
- Being bilingual is an asset. (Spanish)
- Hands-on leadership approach with the ability to adapt to continuous change and dynamic hotel needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the hotel team to obtain consensus and drive results.
- Demonstrated team-building experience and ability to lead by example.
- A results-oriented history of success in hospitality management.
- Ability to foster a guest service culture that drives superior guest experiences.
- Experience in training and developing employees effectively.
