Job Overview:
Stanadyne is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Operations Director to lead our manufacturing operations at the Jacksonville plant. The successful candidate will possess exceptional operations turnaround experience and a strong background in automotive OEM fuel systems. The Jacksonville plant is known for its focus on automotive OEM fuel systems and features a significant level of automation. As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing production processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the P/L of the site.
Ensures attainment of all safety, quality, delivery, cost & cultural improvement commitments. Safety- Our number one responsibility. The site leader will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment through systemic adherence, improvements and behaviors that generate zero incidents.
Quality – Responsible for continuous product and process quality related improvements, ensuring that we deliver to the commitments made to our customers and stakeholders. This includes adherence to our quality systems and collaborative action to improve upon them. The site leader will support our quality policy by entirely satisfying the requirements of our customers, his or her commitment to excellence and assisting associates to produce continuously improving results.
Delivery -Build upon delivery based systems to ensure on time delivery to our customers. This site delivers to the OE & Industrial. Responsible for the improvement of inventory turns to meet or beat the budgeted commitments.
Cost – With full P&L control the plant manager will coordinate with other functional groups, suppliers & customers to increase the efficiency of the sites resources while reducing controllable costs and delivering to cost savings commitments. Responsible for establishing the site budget, cost controls and resources that lead to the achievement of the budgeted commitments including the optimization of inventory. Responsible for capital planning, providing an adequate ROI. Leads and fosters Layered Daily Management as the method to run and continuously improve the day to day operations. Culture- The leader of this site will support our culture of lean manufacturing, our core values, the development of our associates and the integration of principle based systems that positively impact the morale of our associates & business results. Supports and leads to reduce the gap regarding specific operational excellence based cultural opportunities that are identified.
Collaboratively develops yearly G&Os and quarterly priorities for the plant. Determines the responsibilities of the staff and organizational groups while managing the groups to accomplish our identified business objectives.
Responsible for the lean transformation of the operation. This includes the lean road map, planned kaizen activities & layered daily management to produce continuously improving results associated with Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Responsible for all plant results, on-time reporting and identified actions to continuously improve. The plant manager will continuously review operational site status and direct the resolution of manufacturing, material, engineering, supplier or customer related opportunities to minimize cost and prevent operational delays
Ensure new projects launch on time and on budget. Provide input for the development of product strategy, process strategy and R D to maximize future growth.
Partner with HR to develop associates, including performance feedback, recruitment, selection, salary planning, incentive plan and performance recognition.
Support our stakeholders: Our Associates, Customers, Suppliers & Community, fostering professional relationships and promoting our image.
Ensures that all associates assigned are aware of and comply with governmental laws, regulations and Stant policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Proven track record of successfully leading and turning around manufacturing operations, preferably in the automotive industry, with a strong focus on OEM fuel systems.
Extensive experience working with automation systems and processes within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques.
Three plus year Lean Manufacturing experience (preferably using Toyota Productions Systems)
Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence, improve productivity, and achieve cost reduction targets.
Solid understanding of safety regulations, compliance standards, P &L statement, and risk mitigation strategies in a manufacturing setting.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop teams.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on meeting targets and driving organizational success.
