UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The University Development Office (UDO), specifically the Schools and Units team, will collaborate with academic leaders and unit directors to create a community of frontline fundraisers who collaborate to achieve the best possible results for their unit and the university as a whole. Deans and directors will continue to set fundraising priorities, and a UDO staff leader (Assistant Vice Chancellor) will manage the unit’s lead development officer in executing fundraising goals and supervision of their team. The Strategic Initiatives Administrative Coordinator will report to the Strategic Initiatives Executive Assistant on the Strategic Initiatives team. The Strategic Initiatives Administrative Coordinator will provide comprehensive administrative support to executive directors within the assigned assistant vice chancellor vertical. The duties include administrative support and logistics, travel management, communications, and finance/budget management. The Strategic Initiatives Administrative Coordinator is responsible for independent problem solving, answering questions, providing information, and taking action on behalf of the chief development officers and others as authorized. This position must analyze, prioritize, and keep track of multiple pieces of complex and often confidential information in order to make accurate, efficient recommendations regarding workflow, and provide facilitation and processing of information and verbal and written correspondence. The individual must facilitate completion of work at a rapid pace on time-sensitive matters with routine interruptions. All of the above must be done with minimal errors and utmost professionalism in an office whose priorities must adapt to evolving needs and demands from within the University and with strategic partners. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high pace, complex environment. Understanding and awareness of program services, policies, office protocols, professional practices and applicable laws/regulations.
