Our business is 50% brokerage and 50% managed transportation. We are looking for a highly motivated Brokerage Operations Director to manage our carrier sales team, track & trace, and customer service delivery for our brokerage operations team. An ideal candidate for this role has a proven track record of managing carrier sales operations. We have separate sales and operations teams for brokerage, so this position will also interact daily with the director of brokerage sales to align resources and strategy. This position is also a people leader and needs to focus on engaging the workforce, developing talent, and ensuring morale remains high. What You’ll Be Doing Provide leadership to the brokerage operations team through exceeding customer expectations, developing team members into future leaders, developing new capabilities, integrating / investigating new technological tools, and enhancing business opportunities with current customers Enforce adherence to Company and client standard operating procedures. Provide feedback and leadership on changing / developing SOPs Ensure operational efficiency, develop strong vendor relationships, maintain compliance, and hit customer service expectations Ensure all loads are quickly covered by carrier sales team at or above gross margin targets. Identify and develop core carriers for regular lanes Ensure carrier qualification standards are followed to minimize fraud and the use of unreliable carriers Assist Sales in developing / onboarding new customers Foster a customer-centric culture by influencing team to proactively identify client inefficiencies to increase client satisfaction and operational efficiency Serve as key point of contact for escalations and opportunities Live and breathe Synchrogistics’ core values: Figure It Out, Make It Happen; Results Matter; Passion & Grit; Integrity; Teamwork What We Look For Highly organized professional who has covered freight earlier in their career and been promoted to manager status Ability to construct, monitor and refine standard operating procedures for ensuring proper contact with carriers regardless of whether it’s for coverage, disputes, claims, or payment issues Deep understanding of supply chain and ability to develop tailored solutions Customer relationship management (ideally Salesforce platform) software experience, especially managing a sales team using the Salesforce CRM Strong presentation skills, whether over phone, videoconference or in person Excellent strategic planning skills, with proven ability to establish and meet goals Effective problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to thrive in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Salesforce preferred Ability to work independently What We Need to See Minimum 7 years’ logistics or 3PL experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 5+ years of progressive transportation experience Reside in or plan to relocate to Raleigh, NC What We Offer Competitive salary + bonus opportunity.
