The ideal candidate will have a BA or higher degree in accounting, business, or a related field and at least three years experience in financial management and project management. The primary and most important component to this position is the financial piece.

Financial Duties:

The primary financial responsibility is to provide a financial management system, which ensures the proper accountability for funds, is administered through the school accounting system and which reflects, on a timely and accurate basis, the financial condition of the school. The person employed in this position will have the following responsibilities: Maintain the financial policies set up for Longleaf School of the Arts and be familiar with general accounting principles and governmental accounting standards. Develop the current operational infrastructure with specific internal policies for handling school finances Manage the school’s payroll accounting system and work with the payroll administrator Communicate with the school’s financial services contractor In coordination with the school’s accounting services contractor, prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial reports for the Finance Committee Meetings, Board of Directors Meetings and Head of School Attend and participate in monthly Finance Committee Meetings Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by DPI and other agencies Maintain internal controls for financial, property and inventory accounting Maintain a sound system of cash management, including signing and issuing checks, drafts and warrants; receiving and depositing monies Maintain a system of contracting and purchasing procedures, including the issuance of the pre-audit certificate Interact with school’s auditor as needed to ensure timely completion of the audit and tax documents Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and any amendments as appropriate in conjunction with the Head of School Collect, process, analyze and report fiscal data in accordance with the applicable specifications of the Uniform Education Reporting System and comply with the necessary requirements Oversee and implement any process required for seeking, obtaining and reporting funding through state, federal, and private funding sources Other duties as directed by the

Head of School Facilities Duties:

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills for overseeing the facilities. Property management and custodial liaison Set up and follow through with monthly fire drills and semi-annual inspections with the fire marshal as well as record these drills and meetings Report and manage all facility repairs and improvements Other duties as directed by the

Head of School Partnerships Duties:

The candidate will collaborate and manage community partnerships with external arts, academic and business organizations and will act as the liaison between the school and the PTSO. Candidate will also work with the Head of School for recruitment and retention of students.
