The Operations Manager
- Final Mile is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Final Mile delivery and warehouse operations for a high-profile client at Hilldrup’s Raleigh Branch.
This position ensures that quality standards, financial objectives, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction goals are consistently met or exceeded. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hires and trains new employees. Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Duties/Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Lead and oversee all aspects of Final Mile warehouse and delivery operations to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and outstanding customer service. Manage operational performance using established key metrics (e.g., on-time delivery rates, quality scores, cost efficiency, employee productivity). Hire, train, develop, and mentor warehouse and delivery personnel, ensuring high levels of employee engagement and job satisfaction. Collaborate closely with the Myrtle Beach, SC leadership team to ensure operational alignment with company goals and account-specific requirements. Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to increase service quality, reduce costs, and streamline operations. Develop and manage operational budgets and ensure financial performance meets or exceeds targets. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with clients, addressing service issues proactively and maintaining high client satisfaction levels. Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and excellence. Promote Hilldrup’s mission, vision, and values through leadership practices and daily operations. Other duties as assigned. QULIFCATIONS
(knowledge, skills, Abilities) Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Final Mile delivery operations, warehousing, logistics, or a related industry. Proven ability to manage high-profile accounts and drive measurable operational success. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and operational costs. Demonstrated ability to promote an efficient and productive work environment aligned with operational metrics. Proficiency in operational technology and tools (e.g., warehouse management systems, routing software, and productivity tracking platforms). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment and adapt to changing priorities. Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements; Valid driver’s license; Valid operator’s license;
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse and office environment with frequent exposure to warehouse conditions and occasional exposure to external elements. Occasional travel may be required between branches or customer sites Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
