Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and technically adept Strategic Account Manager to drive strategic growth and manage key customer relationships in the custom precision optics sector. This hybrid role combines proactive account management and business development, focusing on expanding our customer base, deepening client relationships, and supporting the successful delivery of complex, build-to-print optical components. Ideal candidates will possess strong technical sales acumen, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for serving advanced markets such as aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and biomedical industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  •  Drive revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities, while also fostering new client relationships through proactive account management and strategic support
  •  Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, building deep, long-term relationships through consistent, high-value engagement
  •  Provide technical sales support for both domestic and international customers, acting as a trusted liaison between customers and internal teams, including technical requirements, lead times, value engineering, and design-for-manufacturing insights
  •  Manage relationships with international channel partners, ensuring performance and alignment with strategic objectives
  •  Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to promote capabilities and strengthen brand presence
  •  Manage collection and tracking of data to inform key KPIs within the Sales Department
  •  Alongside senior leadership and the Sales Manager, assist in the establishment and ongoing maintenance of a CRM system to manage and track customer engagement in accordance with the sales and marketing strategy
  •  Contribute to monthly and annual sales forecasts for customer accounts, in collaboration with leadership, supporting company-wide planning efforts
  •  Develop and maintain a strong understanding of customer applications, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings to continuously refine value propositions
  •  Report to the Sales Manager and contribute to cross-functional initiatives that support overall business goals Qualifications (Education & Experience):
  •  Bachelor’s degree; technical discipline strongly preferred
  •  5+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or account management, ideally within a precision manufacturing or optics-related industry
  •  Strong understanding of build-to-print manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and optical component applications
  •  Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in accordance with strategic goals
  •  Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  •  Ability to manage complex customer accounts and drive strategic growth initiatives under the direction of the Sales Manager and leadership
  •  Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and international partner support as needed
  •  Experience with government and defense contracting is a plus
  •  Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 environments and quality standards preferred
  •  Working familiarity with export and compliance requirements such as ITAR, DFARS, and CMMC preferred
  •  Experience with ERP and CRM systems is advantageous
Physical Requirements:
  •  Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  •  Must be able occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds
