The New Hampshire Fisher Cats are the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays and member of Minor League Baseball. The organization is proud to be New Hampshire’s only professional sports team, a community champion of the City of Manchester and State of New Hampshire, and producer of high-quality family friendly entertainment. The Fisher Cats are looking for a hardworking, dependable, and self-driven individual motived to produce the top playing surface in the Eastern League and helping Delta Dental Stadium uphold its reputation as “Best Ballpark” as voted on by fans. The Assistant Manager, Field Operations is a full-time position that will primarily focus on field maintenance and the overall appearance of the grounds.

Full-time Management role – Salary and competitive benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with the full maintenance of the playing surface, bullpens, and sports performance center. Coordinate with Director of Field Operations and Field Manager for the set-up and breakdown of drills, batting practice, and the game. Coordinate with Director of Field Operations, Director of Stadium Operations and General Manager on field use for ancillary events. Daily maintenance of the playing surface including but not limited to mowing, fertilizer application, pesticide planning, rebuilding mounds and edges, and warning track maintenance. Weekly maintenance of the Delta Dental Stadium grounds including leaf blowing exterior turf, managing vegetation growth on the outfield wall, keeping a clean appearance to the field entrance gate, etc. Maintenance of all field equipment, tools, and the Field Operations shop. Manage game day grounds staff by creating schedules and ensuring a positive work environment. Other duties as assigned by Director of Field Operations and Senior Leadership.

Qualifications:

Experience in turfgrass management and/or working knowledge of the maintenance of sports fields is strongly preferred but not required. Being a creative problem solver who can make sound financial and strategic decisions in an environment of ever-changing variables. Candidate must conduct their work in a professional manner and be self-sufficient in accomplishing tasks on their own while supporting the larger team goal. Being able to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines with quality results is a requirement. The ability to work long hours, including weekends and holidays is a necessity. Possession of a valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record. Physical requirements include the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
