Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Rental Car Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing car rental business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in rental car operations, leadership, customer service, and logistics. This is a high-responsibility role for someone who can run the company like it’s their own.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage rental operations, fleet availability, and reservations Manage team schedules and performance (including remote assistants and drivers) Handle customer inquiries, bookings, and conflict resolution Track vehicle maintenance, cleaning, and turnaround times Maintain inventory accuracy and vehicle tracking Collaborate with ownership on business goals and performance metrics Monitor pricing, demand, and optimize fleet usage Ensure compliance with insurance, rental policies, and local laws Handling messy situations; broken down vehicles, stolen cars, fake drivers licenses, etc Identify growth opportunities and improve internal systems

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in car rental management (e.g., Enterprise, Hertz, or independent rental agency) Strong leadership and decision-making skills Proven ability to manage staff and operations independently Familiarity with rental software/platforms (e.g., Turo, HyreCar, or proprietary systems) Exceptional communication and customer service skills Strong problem-solving and time management skills Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in launching or scaling a rental location Prior use of vehicle telematics or fleet tracking systems Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance Comfort with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools
