As the Child Care Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of several locations, managing staff, and creating a positive atmosphere that promotes the development of children and staff Responsibilities Manage, development and implementation programs that meet the needs of children and align with
NYS- OCFS
regulations. Responsible for training, observing, and ensuring programs operate safely and in compliance. Hiring, training, evaluating, and potentially disciplining or recommending dismissal of staff members. Supervise and support staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities. Responsible for planning summer field trips, vendors, themes – train summer camp staff and oversee the summer camp program. Foster positive relationships with parents, families with effective communication channels. Variety of administrative tasks. Skills Strong background in school-age childcare supervision with a focus on staff management. Proven leadership abilities. Excellent communication skills to effectively manage staff. Excellent communication skills with children and parents. The ability to create a supportive environment encourages staff engagement and development. Experience working with diverse populations is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks and multiple locations. Education and Experience – REQUIRED Associates Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field OR 2 years of college with at least 18 credits in a child related field OR a Child Development Certificate, and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
