About the Position As the Founding Director of Operations, you will lead the high performing team that coordinates Buffalo Commons’ daily business activities. By creating and implementing a sound operational plan in line with our mission and regularly evaluating organizational efficiency, you will develop sustainable practices that ensure a smooth running school where all students have the opportunity to excel. The Director of Operations reports to the Executive Director. Major Duties and Responsibilities Operations Responsibilities Leads aspects of school operations, including facilities, transportation services, student recruitment, and student information databases. Assists with leading aspects of school operations, including purchasing, payroll, vendor management, and information technology. Uses data to drive improvements in systems and operations throughout the school community. Manages operations staff. School Leadership Responsibilities Collaborates with the Leadership Team to build a joyful and rigorous school culture Supports staff and faculty in fostering consistency in academic and behavioral expectations Ensures that traditions and rituals that support the mission are built and maintained About You Qualifications Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a related field Expert organizational skills with a fine-tuned attention to detail Project planning experience with proven ability to see large projects through to completion High quality communications skills with multiple audiences including teachers, students, families, vendors, and colleagues Two years of relevant experience with demonstrable success in a similar role in education or nonprofit sector (preferred) How To Apply To apply, candidates should attach the following documents to their submission: A resume detailing prior experience A cover letter explaining your educational philosophy and a description of what excellence looks like in school operations
