Our highly skilled team of more than 60 staff members works out of our Headquarters in New York, Los Angeles, and remotely. The Opportunity Through interactive workshops, GMI (GLAAD Media Institute) empowers individuals and corporations to become effective storytellers and confident spokespeople, capable of engaging with the media and shaping public perception. These educational sessions focus on honing communication techniques, navigating media landscapes, and crafting compelling narratives that promote understanding and acceptance. GMI’s Consulting pillar provides expert guidance to a diverse range of industries, corporations, and organizations committed to advancing social justice. By partnering with these entities, GMI helps them to strategically leverage their platforms and influence to champion LGBTQ equality and create inclusive environments. This involves developing tailored strategies, providing sensitivity training, and assisting in the creation of impactful campaigns. The Research component of GMI plays a vital role in informing its strategies and demonstrating its impact. Through carefully designed studies, meticulous data evaluation, and the development of key performance indicators, GMI strengthens its mission and drives evidence-based action. This research provides valuable insights into public attitudes, identifies areas for improvement, and measures the effectiveness of GMI’s initiatives. The GMI Corporate Partnerships & Operations Director plays a pivotal role in expanding the reach and impact of the GLAAD Media Institute by cultivating and nurturing strategic partnerships. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Partnerships and collaborating closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships, this position is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing corporate partners through regular communication and engagement. Candidate Profile | Competencies | Personal Qualities Responsibilities Generating new business opportunities by effectively communicating and selling the work of our GLAAD Media Institute. Researching and identifying potential new clients. Perform front-line fundraising at all GLAAD events in a proactive manner. Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with new and existing donors and partners Build and develop relationships with GMI Partners to better understand their business objectives and needs. Accountable for significantly expanding the pipeline of corporate partners actively involved in GMI’s diverse programs, encompassing workshops, consulting, and research. Developing a detailed budget for the upcoming fiscal year and creating regular forecasting reports that track progress across specific GMI workflow areas. Working with GMI, the Leadership Team, and other relevant GLAAD teams, as directed, on a growth analysis and plan Build processes that meet our GMI business objectives and ensure compliance. Leading the creation and refinement of existing marketing materials to effectively communicate the value proposition of GMI’s offerings. Developing customized proposals tailored to the specific needs and objectives of both current and prospective corporate partners Driving increased engagement and investment in GMI’s mission-critical work. Generating comprehensive ROI reports and scorecards that demonstrate the value of their partnership and organizing a streamlined workflow for the renewal and upselling of GMI offerings. Qualifications BA College degree

Required:

3-5 years of sales experience 3+ years of experience and expertise in program design and implementation of media consulting, training, education, and advocacy Existing Rolodex Experience in Cold Calling, Business Development, and Lead Generation via Phone, Email, etc. Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills Understanding of how to position GLAAD against competitors Ability to work independently, quickly as needed, under supervision, and in a team-oriented and goal-oriented environment. Experience in LGBTQ advocacy, social justice, and nonprofit representation of other marginalized communities is a plus.

Technology Proficiency:

Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Google Drive, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, and Nexonia. Experience with project management software, including Asana, is a plus. Compensation A competitive salary commensurate with experience is $100,000-$130,000.
