Job Description

Wells Fargo’s Strategy, Digital & Innovation (SDI) and Enterprise Payments team is part of an integrated, forward-looking organization that covers firmwide strategy, digital capabilities and enterprise payments. The team leads the strategic direction of Wells Fargo, provides and manages Wells Fargo’s digital foundation and common capabilities, and transforms business models to meet evolving customer needs and company growth. They also oversee end-to-end payments, data, liquidity and associated lending solutions that enable our clients to achieve their business objectives in an evolving digital world. In partnership with Communications, Events & Integrated Marketing, the team seeks an experienced corporate communications senior leader to partner with SDI and Enterprise Payments leadership to amplify and support the function’s work. The Head of Communications for SDI and Enterprise Payments will be responsible for leading a communications organization to support the executive thought leadership, strategic and marketing efforts of the greater team. This role will provide communications support for the Operating Committee (C-suite) leader overseeing the function, and provide counsel for content, amplification and executive communications plans. This leader reports to the Head of Communications in the Public Affairs organization, and serves as a member of the Communications, Events & Integrated Marketing Leadership Team.

  • In this role, you will:
  • + Provide communications support to the Operating Committee member leading SDI and Enterprise Payments, offering guidance for executive thought leadership and corporate communications.

+ Develop the overall corporate communications strategy and content delivery to advance SDI and Enterprise Payments priorities through internal channels and targeted communications channels. + Partner with SDI leadership and the Head of Marketing, GPL, to understand the team’s customer value proposition and narrative, developing corporate communications that align and support strategic messaging. + Develop and oversee key media and reporter relationships to promote external storytelling and thought leadership. + Lead a small team of communicators to execute on plans and communications routines. + Forge strong relationships with the Enterprise Brand Strategy team, and the marketing and brand teams of Enterprise Payments, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Commercial Banking to understand the broader enterprise brand strategy, and ensure alignment of corporate communications. + Collaborate with other heads of Communications for lines of business and corporate functions, as well as other leadership in Public Affairs, to achieve a “One PA” approach to projects and investments that support Wells Fargo.

  • Required Qualifications:
  • + 8+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education + 4+ years of management experience
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • + Advanced level skills in communications and brand management.

+ Experience developing and leading a communications strategy for a large, heavily matrixed organization. + Financial Institution experience preferred, payments and Treasury experience preferred, global business experience a plus. + Experience in developing and executing communications that cover a full ecosystem, including email, internal and external web assets, social media and traditional media. + Understanding of Business-to-Business and consumer marketing, branding and communication strategies. + Strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. + Ability to be flexible and adjust plans quickly to meet changing business needs. + Enthusiasm and strong relationship building skills; ability to collaborate and influence across lines of business at multiple levels; strong executive presence. + Experience working with media, including high profile publications, reporters and news outlets. + Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of audiences at multiple levels within the organization. + Self-motivation and energetic and forward thinking, possessing integrity and high ethical standards. + Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, digital marketing, business administration, or a related field.

  • Pay Range
  • Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates. $173,300.00 – $359,900.00
