Position Summary:

The Operational Excellence Manager – Tyrone is responsible for driving continuous improvement across the plant while managing and supporting core operations. This hybrid role combines project leadership, performance optimization, and direct operational oversight. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, process-driven, and hands-on in leading cross-functional teams toward measurable business results.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Continuous Improvement:

Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and process improvement initiatives targeting safety, quality, cost, and throughput. Facilitate Kaizen events, 5S, and root cause analyses (RCAs) to improve manufacturing processes. Oversee the

MOS/MMOS

systems: Audit and implement performance management tools ensuring KPIs are relevant, measurable, and supported by accessible data. Drive optimization projects focused on reducing controllable variances; lead teams to deliver $500K+ in verified value annually and maintain a $1M+ improvement idea pipeline. Partner with cross-functional departments to align and execute plant scorecard goals. Project Management –

Supply Chain:

Manage and support supply chain improvement projects, including: Interplant transfers optimization. Dry goods inventory accuracy and availability. Capacity and sales forecasting to meet customer demands. Ensure alignment between production capability and supply chain constraints for efficient flow of materials and information.

Operations Support & Leadership:

Provide operational leadership and team coverage during absences, PTO, or turnover for Operations Supervisors. Lead teams across all shifts as needed to meet production schedules while promoting engagement and adhering to safety, food safety, quality, and performance standards. Support plant support functions (e.g., sanitation, maintenance, quality) and ensure strong interconnectivity with operations. Develop and implement plans to align labor and crewing with sales requirements; identify and reduce overtime.

Commercialization Support:

Serve as a primary contact for the plant as a local change manager (ADKAR) of new product launches and spec changes driven by the Research, Development, and Commercialization team. This is to include NOR (new opportunity requests) and product spec or dry goods changes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field. 5+ years of experience in operations or manufacturing leadership, preferably within the food industry. Proven track record in managing improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma certification strongly preferred). Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, production planning, and workforce optimization. Project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable outcomes. Proficient in ERP/MES systems and KPI dashboard tools.

Work Environment:

Based in a food manufacturing facility with a balance of office and production floor activity. Requires flexibility to support off-shift or weekend needs depending on business priorities. Will require travel periodically to the corporate office in Hatfield, Pa and other locations as needed. (Approx. 5% of the time).
