Director of Aquatic Programs & Retention:
Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred 2+ years of experience in swim lesson management and staff supervision Previous experience with voluntary/non-profit organizations preferred Previous YMCA experience preferred
YMCA/ARC
certifications for lifeguarding and swim instruction (completed within six months of the employment if needed) Complete Listen First training within six months of employment Highly organized with a high degree of computer efficiency in Microsoft office products The responsibilities we will trust you with as our
Director of Aquatic Programs & Retention:
Achieves desired sales and enrollment targets Achieves desired revenue through recruiting, training, and developing high quality staff Manages and controls budgets related to Warminster aquatics Strives for high NPS scores and program survey results Develops, implements and supervises all aquatic programs Recruits, trains, and supervises all staff including lifeguards and instructors.
This includes:
holding regular staff meetings, ongoing coaching, completion of performance appraisals and position objectives and complete payroll. Proactively communicates with the VP of Operations, staff and members. Respond in a timely manner to all member inquiries, comments and/or complaints. Engages with the membership team in any/all topics related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training. Performs in lockstep with the Aquatics 4KEYC and all related positions, ex: Director of Private Lessons, Senior Director of Group Exercise, etc. Actively participates in the Aquatics 4KeyC team to help develop and implement strategies to advance the Aquatics department across the association. Responds quickly and effectively to accidents and incidents. Accurately prepares and submits Accident and Incident Reports in a timely manner. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and all safety procedures. Assists with the development and implementation of membership recruitment, retention, initiatives and orientation strategies. Evaluates programs in relation to YMCA and departmental targets. Communicate findings to VP of Operations, volunteer committees, staff and participants and propose/implement approved course of action. Ensures that all Department of Public Health and YUSA standards for aquatic environments and programs are met or exceeded. Maintain the cleanliness of the pool deck. Work closely with the facilities team to maintain the filtration/chemical systems and assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment and facilities. Responds effectively and in accordance with YMCA guidelines to problems that occur. Anticipates and minimizes potential service gaps with participants or the aquatic environment. Executes and enforces all safety regulations, policies and procedures. Supports Special Events and other interdepartmental needs as necessary. Attends organizational and departmental meetings as required.
