Hazleton, PA 18202 General Summary TheOperations Supervisor is responsible for the safe execution ofdaily operational plans and strategies, to manage, lead andallocate resources, disseminate information to teammates, ensurecompliance with key processes while achieving safety, quality,efficiency and financial KPI’s. This position is responsible forproduct safety, quality, legality and integrity. PrimaryResponsibilities Supervises at least 2 full-time direct reports.
Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited torecommending hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition andrewards, staff productivity and performance management to includedisciplinary actions up to and including terminations. Responsiblefor all daily, weekly, and monthly production activities withinwarehouse operations. Prepares and distributes various reportsneeded for normal day to day operations. Responsible for ensuringthat the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs areassigned effectively and completed properly. Responsible forscheduling vacations and time off per policy with the least amountof disruption to the department to meet customer needs. Fullyengaged with process on floor to actively lead and superviseteammates. Communicates daily through operational start upmeetings, making sure all work instructions, daily workflowactivities and safety practices are being followed. Initiatespositive methods of driving teammate excellence through follow up,providing consistent and fair feedback on performance. Takes actionthrough coaching and counseling to correct behaviors. Conductoperations in a manner which promotes safety. Conduct weekly safetymeetings during start of shift with teammates. Maintain a safeworking environment through participation of safety training, JHAreviews, and weekly walk through. Maintain a clean, neat, andorderly work environment which adheres to corporate 5’s standards.
Supervise the operations of the team to achieve prescribedobjectives. Develop and maintain a productive work team throughcross training, sound communication and positive motivationaltechniques. Facilitating seamless hand offs and communicating keyinformation to peers, teammates and management. Ability to workeffectively in a multi-tasking required environment. Providecourteous and respectful customer service in high pressuresituations to internal/external customers. Assure the integrity ofthe inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories. AssistOperations Manager on special projects as required. Assist inmaintaining the security of the facility. You might be a great fitif…. Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in related fieldpreferred; or Military rank at E-6 or E-7/or O-1/O-2; or minimum of6 months lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse/supply chainenvironment required. Labor Management experience preferred.
Prioritization and problem-solving skills essential. Experiencewith quality management methodologies. Proven ability to drivecontinuous improvement with fundamental understanding of changemanagement. Ability to handle people under high-stress situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Broad knowledgeof warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
