Operations Manager Joseph Priestley House Museum Northumberland, PA 17857

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Operations Manager employed by the Friends of Joseph Priestley House (FJPH) assigned to the Joseph Priestley. Probationary Period – 90 days House Museum supervises or performs duties related to but not limited to FJPH project and event management, FJPH budget management, FJPH advertising & marketing coordination, FJPH website and social media coordination, FJPH fund development and grant management, FJPH volunteer service oversight, FJPH gift shop management and FJPH membership oversight.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
  • Develop goals and objectives that tend to growth and prosperity of the FJPH
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies to promote the attainment of FJPH goals
  • Supervises, carries out, or delegates the procurement of suitable resources to complete FJPH activities and projects (e.g. people, material, equipment, etc.).
  • Organize and coordinate FJPH operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity
  • Supervise the work of FJPH Part-Time Administrative Assistant, committees and volunteers, providing feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Supervises the management of the FJPH museum gift shop.
  • Oversees the management of the FJPH Visitor Center (including front desk operations)
  • Maintains relationships with FJPH partners/vendors/suppliers
  • Gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data and write reports for the FJPH
  • Seeks out alternative funding opportunities for FJPH
  • Assists with FJPH volunteer training
  • Ensure adherence to applicable non-profit rules, regulations, and best practices
  • Ensure adherence to the management agreement with the Pennsylvania Historical Museum Commission (PHMC)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the FJPH Board of Directors
DECISION MAKING

Incumbent has authority to answer common questions related to the FJPH advertising, events, planning, volunteerism, partnerships, fundraising, site management, and museum operations. All questions pertaining to museum policy are to be referred to the FJPF Board.
