Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance is a multi-purpose social service agency emphasizing education and skill-building while providing early childhood education as an integral function of its mission to serve Point Breeze’s low-income community. Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance has been providing a comprehensive array of services to children and adults in the Point Breeze neighborhood of South Philadelphia for over a century.

Services include:

For young children: Early childhood education For school-age and high school youth: Out-of-school time programming (after school and summer camp); and case management for at-risk youth For adults: Employment training, parenting education, energy assistance programs, housing counseling programs, and financial literacy; and For the community at large: Affordable housing and community economic development

STATUS:

The position is a part-time position Monday through Friday 2:00pm -6:00pm; Monday- Friday 8:30am-1:30pm during the six-week summer program

SUMMARY:

Greater Philadelphia Community Alliance is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Site Coordinator for our 21st Community Learning Community Learning Center After School Program at the U School High School that will skillfully manage oversee and oversee the day-to-day operations at the program site. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking entry level experience with supervision and program management in youth out-of-school time programming.

Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of the OST Program at the school location Provide leadership and assistance to program staff, community organizing activities and events Facilitate partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services to students and families Establish and maintain communication with school personnel and parents about students’ learning and social emotional learning needs Ensure compliance with GPCA policies and 21st CCLC requirements Collaborate on program schedules and curriculum development Fulfill reporting requirements and attend essential trainings Education and Experience Associate degree or higher in Education, Human Services, or related field with at least one’s worth of supervision and/or management experience in a related setting such as after school program, summer camp, youth community based programing. Willing to consider high school degree with at least 3 years of supervision/management experience in a related setting such as after school program, summer camp, youth community based programing. Experience working with middle to high school aged youth in in a related setting such as after school program, summer camp, youth community based programing. Familiarity and experience with diverse populations and culture competencies strongly desired Experience with Microsoft application (word, power point, excel, one drive). Qualifications Ability to be flexible and think outside of the box Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Physical Demands Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise youth activities Additional Application Requirements Must be able to pass a Background Records Check prior to working directly with program youth Verification of education and work experience for the Position. Ability to commit to working Monday-Friday for the full six week program between 8:30am-1:30pm
