Full-time Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Innkeeper to oversee the day-to-day operations of Michie House, a family-owned hostel in Providence. As an Innkeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay, managing the hostel’s staff, and maintaining the hostel’s high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome guests upon arrival and provide them with information about the hostel’s facilities, services, and local attractions. Check-in and check-out guests, manage reservations, and handle payments. Respond to guest inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Oversee the housekeeping staff to ensure that all rooms and common areas are clean and well-maintained. Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain stock levels to ensure smooth hostel operations. Manage the hostel’s social media accounts and respond to guest reviews and comments. Organize and promote events and activities that enhance the guest experience. Collaborate with other staff members to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests. Ensure that the hostel complies with all relevant health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably in a hostel or hotel environment. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Knowledge of booking software, such as Hostelworld or Booking.com, is preferred. A passion for travel and meeting people from all over the world.
