Director of Operations 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 9200 University Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29406 Director of Operations Charleston Southern University Position Overview Charleston Southern University is seeking a Director of Operations for the College of Health Sciences, which includes the Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Athletic Training, Kinesiology, and Public Health programs, and for the College of Nursing. The candidate for the Director of Operations position must be a motivated professional with a proven record of success in operations. The candidate must also be an active advocate for health and medicine and interested in advancing the profession’s future. This person will work collaboratively with the College of Health Sciences and College of Nursing leadership team and the faculty and staff to ensure efficient workflows are in place to maximize both of the colleges productivity and overall performance. This is a 12-month full-time position which reports to the Dean for the College of Health Sciences. Key Responsibilities Manages the day-to-day operations of the colleges, supporting both the Dean of the College of Health Sciences and the College of Nursing. Works with the leadership team to develop mid and long-term strategic plan for the colleges that help meet the colleges mission, values, and goals. Works with the college leadership team to ensure successful budgeting and purchasing for each program, including the coordination of adjunct and overload pay for each program, travel requests and reimbursements for faculty and staff, and maintaining an inventory of supplies for the college. Supports the coordination of program policy and procedure updates and manages the impact across all areas of the programs in the colleges. Support the coordination of clinical affiliation agreements for the College of Nursing. Responsible for the onboarding of new faculty and staff for the colleges. Oversees the physical plant, technology, and marketing work order requests for the colleges. Oversees the scheduling of meetings and classes for the Health Science Building and Nursing Building in coordination with the Office of the Vice President for Affairs. Oversees the recording and distribution of minutes from departmental and committee meetings for the programs in the colleges as needed. Responsible for the distribution of program surveys, the collection of data, and initial analysis of this data as part of the ongoing accreditation processes for the colleges. Assists in coordinating alumni relations initiatives by supporting communications efforts and event planning designed to actively engage and build connections with college alumni. Responsible for the planning and implementing of special events for each program, specifically to include Professionalism, White Coat, and Graduation Ceremonies for the Physician Assistant and Physical Therapy programs, and the Pinning Ceremony for the College of Nursing. Provides other essential leadership and support to the colleges faculty and staff as directed. Required Skills and Attributes Exceptional organizational abilities. Ability to independently prioritize work. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. Knowledge of customer service standards and ability to use them effectively with internal and external constituencies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with faculty, administrators, students, staff, alumni, and the general public. Ability to take initiative, plan, organize, problem-solve and accurately complete assignments without immediate and constant supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality of department records. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree, preferably in business or a health-related field.
