Fabrication Operations Supervisor SPARTA Networking Charleston, SC 29417 Position Overview The Fabrication Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the fabrication department, including supervision of welding and fitting teams, coordination of production schedules, and quality assurance. This role ensures jobs are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with budget, quality, and delivery goals. Qualifications Minimum +5 years of supervisory experience in fabrication or heavy manufacturing environments. Proven experience in welding and fabrication techniques, layouts, and certification standards. Strong understanding of blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in performance evaluation and hands-on team leadership. Ability to obtain and maintain certification for forklift and crane operation. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a shop-floor environment. Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of welders and welder/fitters to ensure timely and high-quality fabrication. Serve as a mentor and coach, providing ongoing support, training, and feedback to team members. Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve production issues. Collaborate across departments to align resources and ensure smooth execution of job orders. Review job specifications using digital tools (e.g., JT2GO, SAP 3D Viewer) to plan and delegate tasks. Lead daily planning meetings and communicate job expectations clearly. Perform visual inspections and fit checks to verify conformance to customer and internal standards. Promote and enforce compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality. Maintain documentation and reports as required by internal standards and regulatory requirements. Perform additional related duties as assigned by leadership.
