Director of Financial Operations 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Conway, SC 29527 Director of Finance & Administration Reports to: The Chief Executive Officer The Director of Administration & Finance (DAF) is a member of a team of committed professionals working together to provide customized services to fathers and their families. The DAF provides the leadership and management necessary to ensure efficient and effective systems are in place to increase productivity and organization. The DAF will also ensure that proper operational controls and administrative and reporting procedures are in place to effectively manage a multi-site organization. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the organization. The Director of Administration & Finance works closely with the Site Manager (SM) to ensure program fidelity of the statewide fatherhood initiative programing model is maintained. The DAF will assist the SM with maintaining standards of excellence for the organization and provide insights on identifying program improvement areas and the ongoing professional development of staff. The DAF along with the SM will assist the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in strategic planning measures and the overall operations within the agency. This position involves effective communication with team members, external partners, and vendors. This position requires excellence in critical thinking, high-level problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant must be a team member with proven leadership and management ability for a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Essential Position Functions & Summary of Responsibilities:
Provides day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the organization. Records financial transactions, maintain financial records, fact check financial data and update financial statements via QuickBooks. Ensure accounts are current and accurate; track all income and expenditures for the company. Organize all financial reports as needed. Working alongside the SM , the DAF provides oversight on data management and overall program quality to ensure accuracy and program effectiveness. Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all administrative processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the organization. Works with the CEO to review and allocate all revenue and expenses across multiple funding sources as appropriate. Works in the absentia of the CEO by coordinating with the contracted CPA on financial reports. Ensures that all systems and office resources are in place to support day to day operations and annually assess the effectiveness of these processes and procedures and proposes changes and improvements as needed. This includes accounting, insurance, HR, technology, etc. Ensures proper and continuous flow of communication between the organization and its partners and keeps the CEO informed of any critical issues. Identifies and communicates all pertinent issues or complications to the CEO or necessary individuals both internal and external. Promotes a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement that values learning and commitment to quality and service. Contributes to the short and long term organizational planning and strategy to increase efficiency of organization (this includes a detailed succession plan for all levels of leadership and overall processes) Participates in the effective use of data to identify and resolve challenges and to inform programmatic decisions. Serves as a member of the agency management team. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required. Must adhere to agency staff code of conduct and demonstrate positive work and team ethic.
Education/Training Preferences:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Management or related field required. Minimum of five years of Nonprofit QuickBooks experience (class-based accounting, and grant financial management experience
REQUIRED.
) Minimum of five years’ office management/leadership experience with the full range of business functions and systems, including strategic development and planning, budgeting, business analysis, finance, information systems, and human resources. Demonstrated ability to assess and design systems and procedures to increase operational effectiveness and communications. Proficiency in MS Office products required.
