The Director of People Operations is a critical position at Broad River Retail reporting to the Senior Vice President of People that is responsible for developing, leading, and elevating a team of people experts in specialized areas such as People Operations, HRIS & Onboarding, Safety & Security, and Total Rewards.
DAY IN THE LIFE AS THIS MEMORY MAKER
Leadership & Strategy:
Lead and develop a team of 5-20 HR professionals, ensuring the design and execution of employee-centric payroll, benefits, system management (Paycom) people operations, and safety & security initiatives.
Vendor Management:
Maintain and strengthen relationships with vendors related to payroll, benefits, system management (Paycom), and compliance (people operations), ensuring optimal service delivery.
Program Oversight:
Direct the design and implementation of health and wellness programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and minimizing legal risks.
Innovative Solutions:
Collaborate with senior leaders and People Team key stakeholders to create impactful tools, programs, and content that meet organizational needs and industry standards.
Engagement & Retention:
Assist in developing and executing strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention, ultimately boosting performance at both organizational and individual levels.
Performance Metrics:
Identify and implement metrics to assess success in key areas, developing actionable plans based on insights.
Policy Development:
Oversee the revision and development of Company Policies, ensuring alignment with best practices and legal requirements.
Change Management:
Champion and implement change strategies that promote continuous improvement and organizational success.
Additional Duties:
Perform any other tasks as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Serves on the Senior Leadership Team. Supervise 4-5 direct reports overseeing a team of up to 20. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field with 10+ years of experience in a management role or equivalent.
Preferred certifications:
SHRM or PHR. Strong knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, Title VII of CRA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and FMLA. Passion for fostering a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace for all employees. Excellent cognitive skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks efficiently. Proven experience leading diverse project teams to successful outcomes. Exceptional communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Self-motivated problem solver with strong organizational skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job the employee is: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Hybrid work schedule with at least 3 days on-site at Fort Mill Corporate site.
