Job Description

Director FSL Operations Summary The Director of FSL Operations is a key leader within Asurion’s Supply Chain team, responsible for the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the Forward Stocking Location (FSL) network supporting multiple business lines and clients. This individual will lead a large, distributed team—both direct employees and third-party providers—while also building strong cross-functional partnerships with Product, Client, Technology, and Customer Solutions teams. This role requires a strong operational strategist with the ability to lead through influence, drive complex initiatives in a highly matrixed environment, and continuously optimize operations to meet evolving business demands. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, paired with a hands-on, results-driven approach to managing people, processes, and performance. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a scalable, cost-effective FSL strategy to support rapid growth and multiple lines of business Stand up new FSLs across the U.S., determining optimal mix of direct lease vs. 3PL-managed sites. Lead development and deployment of inventory systems and tools across FSLs, ensuring seamless integration Manage $100M+ in field inventory, ensuring parts are where they need to be to deliver superior customer experiences. Establish robust inventory control processes to mitigate shrink and improve accuracy. Act as the supply chain liaison to internal teams and key external clients (e.g., Verizon, ATT, Samsung). Partner across departments (Legal, Risk, Security) to manage FSL vendor contracts and compliance with Asurion standards. Support pilots, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives with supply chain expertise and rapid execution. Develop and manage annual operating plan (AOP) and related budgets for FSL operations. Track, report, and improve performance using key metrics (KPIs), identifying trends and driving accountability across sites. Lead cost reduction initiatives, continuously seeking opportunities to streamline operations and improve ROI. Lead and grow a high-performing team of supply chain professionals and 3PL partners, cultivating a culture of ownership, innovation, and operational excellence. Inspire teams through change, overcome obstacles, and champion continuous improvement practices. Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and succession planning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years of progressive supply chain operations experience, including FSL, warehousing, or logistics leadership. Proven ability to manage large, distributed teams and influence across matrixed organizations. Strong business acumen with analytical, financial, and strategic planning expertise. Demonstrated success in vendor and contract management, especially within 3PL or logistics sectors. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to travel and willingness to work flexible hours to support a 24/7 network. Ability to appropriately prioritize and drive initiatives while operating in a highly matrixed environment.
