Director of Operations, Peugeot Center for Engineering Service 4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars One University Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37204 Primary Function Supervises, directs, and facilitates the preparation, organization, and implementation of Peugeot Center engineering mission projects with a focus both on the technical work to be done and the spiritual basis and growth opportunities inherent in serving others. This position requires both independent and team work. Applicants should expect to be self-sufficient and proactive in their tasks as well as collaborative and cooperative among the team. The position also requires an understanding of leadership, communication, and management around a variety of stakeholders including college students, engineering professionals, donors, and partner organizations. Applicants to the role should be willing to learn, able to adapt, and prepared for uncomfortable situations due to the complex nature of engineering mission projects. Project management is an important responsibility for this role and will include coordinating teams, schedule, equipment, and travel logistics among others. The position also requires travel, primarily through serving as a leader for at least one engineering project team annually. Description of Tasks Performed Lead the recruitment, training, equipping and coordination of engineering students and professionals in the key technical, social, economic, spiritual, and cultural dynamics that affect their engineering service projects. With a winsome spirit, engage with our students, faculty, host partners, and industry partners to best use the skills that God has given each of us to serve others. Coordinate the stewardship of relationships with the Peugeot Center’s partners in developing communities and identifying new appropriate projects with them from cultural, socioeconomic, spiritual, logistic, and technical perspectives. Develop and sustain key connections with professional engineers for technical support of projects to ensure successful completion of objectives. Provide support to student participants and team leaders in fundraising and development of support. Supervise the identification and equipping of student leaders for the technical, interpersonal, and spiritual challenges of leading faith-motivated engineering service Support engineering faculty in research projects including work to be published in professional journals and presentations to professional societies. Exercise independent judgement and responsibility in representing Lipscomb to our mission hosts and partners Discern and manage risks of travel and projects in collaboration with Lipscomb Missions and Risk Management Participate in the development of strategic plans and goals for the operation of the Peugeot Center Oversee the expenditure of funds necessary to support the engineering mission program. Maintain records of projects, participants, host partners, industry partners, and costs and resources required for the program Supervise and manage student workers Engage alongside students, faculty, and staff in domestic and international mission projects. Position Qualifications Education Bachelor’s Degree with BS in Engineering Experience 3 to 5 years Prior involvement in at least three engineering missions or humanitarian engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in an engineering field or Professional Engineer (PE) license Fluency in a second language (e.g. Spanish) Working/Environmental Conditions Work performed in interior and exterior conditions. Position requires continuous moderate or occasional heavy physical activity. Experience Required 3 – 5 years: Practical experience working as an engineer in industry; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member in multi-cultural environments; direct participation in engineering mission trips and/or equivalent service projects. Education Required Bachelors or better in Engineering
