Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Director of the Physical Security—Special Operations group is responsible for the overall security strategy and implementation of physical security Executive Protection (EP), Event Services (ES), Security Incident Information Management (SIIM), and the Armed Security Officer Program (ASOP).
The Special Operation Director will play a critical leadership role and will be instrumental in building the program and gaining senior leadership support, aligning security strategies with organizational goals, and ensuring seamless integration across HCA’s operational framework.
This role requires a proactive leader with expertise in executive protection, risk mitigation, intelligence gathering and reporting, threat management, travel security planning, incident investigation, surveillance detection, incident response, and managing corporate security, capable of developing a world-class security program while fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. They will be responsible for the execution of an enterprise-wide physical security services program consisting of:
Executive Protection Services
Event Protection Services
Security Incident Information Management (SIIM)
Aviation Security and Armed Security Officer programs (ASO)
Federal Law Enforcement Agency Liaison, including Federal/State Fusion Centers
Local Law Enforcement Liaison
Success in this role will require defining a comprehensive physical services program strategy. This involves gaining senior leadership and stakeholder support and effectively rolling out the strategy across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Program Development & Implementation
Design and lead HCA’s Executive Protection & Physical Security Services Programs, including ES, SIIM, and ASOP, ensuring they meet corporate security objectives and industry best practices.
Develop policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for executive protection, aviation security, security intelligence management, and event security.
Oversee the Armed Security Officer (ASO) program, ensuring compliance with DHS, TSA, and corporate regulations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
Build strong relationships with corporate leadership and key stakeholders to secure support for security initiatives.
Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement, intelligence agencies, and private security partners to enhance security coordination.
Provide executive-level briefings and risk assessments to senior leadership.
Operational Management & Risk Mitigation
Establish and oversee SIIM and executive protection teams, ensuring security measures align with threat assessments and travel risk intelligence.
For high-profile events, develop operations plans and lead security operations, ensuring smooth access control, crowd management, and perimeter security.
Develop and implement operations plans for Executive Protection for high-profile leadership, ensuring their safety in public and private settings.
Develop and implement transportation security strategies, including coordination with private aviation and commercial travel security teams.
Lead event security operations, ensuring protective measures for corporate events, conferences, and high-profile gatherings.
Personnel & Resource Management
Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing security team.
Establish training programs to maintain operational readiness and professional development for security personnel.
Manage security budgets, ensuring cost-effective implementation of program strategies.
Crisis Management & Emergency Response
Develop and oversee emergency response protocols for executive travel, corporate offices, and high-risk environments.
Following the regulations outlined in the Federal Register (July 15, 2005), ensure compliance with TSA’s ASO program for General Aviation flights operating into or out of DCA serving as onboard an armed security (ASO) officer specially trained and authorized by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
As ASO, mitigate potential threats by collaborating with flight crews and implementing chartered and private aviation safety measures.
As ASO, maintain situational awareness and readiness for emergency scenarios, adhering to federal aviation standards
Collaborate with stakeholders and engage governance and company leadership to set priorities based on risk, resources, and business priorities.
Forges partnerships with all security colleagues and external clients on the security and safety-related programs he/she manages, including law enforcement agencies.
Communicates with impact. Collaborates with Corporate, Division leadership, and other stakeholders to effectively cascade communication and critical messages to colleagues within the Division and its markets. Liaisons with the broader IPS organization to ensure consistency in approach and leveraging SMEs where applicable and available.
Lead frequent interaction with key stakeholders from the group, division, market, facilities, and various Lines of Business.

Skills and Qualifications:

HR-218 (LEOSA) or CA CCW eligibility is ideal.
Knowledge of physical security principles, methods, and practices
Familiarity with travel risk management and global security concerns

Bachelor’s degree
