Job Description

Corporate Director of Operations Ation Group Knoxville, TN We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Operations to oversee and enhance our operational processes as a federal contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal contract operations management, project management, and strategic planning. This leadership role requires an individual who can effectively manage teams, negotiate with stakeholders, and drive business development initiatives to improve overall efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the operations of contracts, the Operations Manager and Project Managers.
  • Develops strategies to attain short and long term financial and operational goals.
  • Directs the development of the organization to ensure future growth.
  • Participates in the development of business unit strategies.
  • Leads the design and implementation of operational policies, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Evaluates current and proposed operational policies, procedures and implements changes as necessary.
  • Creates functional strategies, specific objectives, and budgets for contract performance, the Operations Manager, and Contract Project Managers.
  • Prepares reports and audits to monitor and improve contract performance, as well as to adhere to approved budgets.
  • Communicates and coordinates with different functions to ensure efficiency.
  • Ensures all services are delivered in compliance with contract requirements and proposal promises.
  • Ensures that project/contract milestones/goals are met.
  • Serves as back up for signatory authority on contract documents, AP, and payroll.
  • Oversees FSO program including supervising the FSO.
  • Responsible for union negotiations/arbitrations.
  • Identifies process improvements.
  • Requires knowledge of contracts, customers, and scope of work.
  • Tracks, compiles, and provides evidenced based reporting using metrics and KPI’s.
  • Manages personnel performance using metrics and KPI’s.
  • Basic understanding and experience using Ai models (Copilot, ChatGPT-4 etc.) to support administrative functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build excel workbooks and generate graphs and charts in excel.
Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience plus 8 additional years of experience in operations, government contracting, or project management.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in government contracting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing federal contracts and 3 years direct supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with or as an FSO
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • This position requires a current Q or TS clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a Q or TS clearance.
Preferred:
  • Prefer candidate that has 5 years of experience managing multiple federal contracts for different federal customers.
