We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Foreman to lead crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utilities, including water, sewer, storm drainage, and related systems. The Utility Foreman will be responsible for supervising daily field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily field activities of crews performing underground utility work. Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and utility layouts. Plan work operations, determine manpower needs, and assign tasks accordingly. Oversee installation of water mains, sanitary sewer, storm drain systems, and associated structures (manholes, inlets, valves, etc.). Ensure proper shoring, trench safety, and adherence to OSHA standards. Coordinate inspections with engineers, inspectors, and project managers. Track materials, equipment, and labor on site; maintain accurate daily reports and field logs. Lead morning safety meetings and enforce jobsite safety practices. Operate equipment as needed and assist crews with hands-on work when required. Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades on-site.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in underground utility installation, with 2+ years in a supervisory role . Strong knowledge of underground utility construction practices, materials, and methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications. Proficient in trench safety, pipe grades, and utility layout. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred). OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Able to stand, walk, bend, and work in trenches for extended periods.
