Full Job Description About Us:

Premium Glass LLC is a commercial glass installation subcontractor serving the Mid-South region (TN, MS, AL). Our work includes storefront systems, curtain wall, glass entrances, interior glazing, and specialty commercial applications. We pride ourselves on precision, reliability, and quality craftsmanship. As our operation expands, we are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Director of Operations —preferably with a background in glass and glazing —to support the CEO in driving efficiency, growth, and excellence across projects.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a glass-industry operations leader with strong skills in project management, estimating, and field execution. This individual will serve as a key business generalist and operational partner to the CEO, managing everything from take-offs and shop drawings to job scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination. Ideal candidates will bring proven experience within the glass installation industry and be ready to step into a dynamic leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a strategic and operational partner to the CEO with direct involvement in daily business execution. Oversee operations for commercial glass projects including storefronts, curtain wall, interior partitions, and custom installs. Review architectural plans and specifications for accurate take-offs and glass scope estimating. Prepare and manage detailed estimates, bid packages, and subcontractor pricing. Lead shop drawing submittals, RFIs, and approvals with general contractors and architects. Manage job scheduling, procurement, and crew dispatch to meet project deadlines and budgets. Create and maintain Excel-based tools for estimating, project tracking, and reporting. Standardize field and office processes for installation quality, safety, and efficiency. Maintain vendor and fabricator relationships; oversee ordering of glass, hardware, and accessories. Monitor job performance, profitability, and manage change orders and billing documentation.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in commercial glass and glazing operations, estimating, or project management. Strong working knowledge of glass systems (storefront, curtain wall, interior glass, etc.) and installation sequencing. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable developing tools for estimating and reporting. Ability to read and/or produce shop drawings with attention to detail in take-off accuracy. Familiarity with fabrication submittals, field measurements, and installation tolerances. Skilled in construction scheduling, material procurement, and job costing. Experience working directly with general contractors and managing field teams. Self-directed, reliable, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred But Not Required:

Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, GlazierStudio). Familiarity with QuickBooks or construction accounting platforms. Experience managing installers and subcontractors in the glass industry.
