YOUR ROLE
Are you known for your leadership skills? Are you passionate aboutcoordinating logistics activities? If so, we have an opportunitythat would allow you to oversee transportation and customsprocesses, providing customer service for shipment, receipt anddocumentation of imported/exported products in accordance withfederal and foreign regulations.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal andexternal customers at all times. Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmentalactivities. Assist in the retention and training efforts of staffand of customers. Conduct meetings with staff to assess group’soverall status, discuss ideas for improvement and inform staff ofnew developments. Address all employee performance problemspromptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies. Oversee performance statistics. Review and monitor shipmentdocumentation for accuracy. Examine various documents includinginvoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to ensurecompliance with federal and foreign regulations governing theshipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exportedproducts. Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume ofmerchandise exported/imported to and from foreign destinations.
Communicate with customs officials as appropriate to obtain releaseof incoming freight and resolve delays. Establish, monitor, and revise policies, procedures and servicestandard for customs clearance operations as dictated and allowedby applicable regulations. Ensure all policies and procedures areconsistently administered. Identify areas of concern in clients’ import and export processesthrough monitoring of team performance against company and clientstandards, regular audit of shipment documents and accounting, andperiodic client reviews. Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and problemsor issues. Maintain flexible work schedule include outside normalbusiness hours and after hours on call rotation. Effectively participate in and/or supervise department projectsrelated to assigned area of responsibility.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, Minimum fouryears related experience. Minimum one year supervisory experience;Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics or SupplyChain Management, Transportation, Finance or related disciplinepreferred or equivalent combination of work experience andeducation. Three years of industry experience preferred.
Credentials:
Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, ExportCompliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping; Some professionalcertifications may be required.
Skills:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet,web-based and job specific software applications.
Characteristics:
Ability to allocate work assignments; Provenexperience in problem analysis, presentation of alternatives andimplementing solutions; Ability to read, analyze, and interpretgeneral business periodicals, professional journals, technicalprocedures, or governmental regulations; Ability to write reports,business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
