Job Statement
Primary duties are to accept, process and post payments to customers’ accounts and to answer general customer inquiries.
Essential Duties
Rotates between Pulaski Drive Thru and the mail room according to department schedule.
Determines and accepts correct payment amounts from customers.
Maintains assigned cash working funds accurately.
Balances cash and check payments and posts to customers’ accounts according to established procedures and prepares deposits.
Prepares bank deposits at Pulaski Drive Thru location according to Department schedule.
Verifies, retrieves, processes and signs off on all drop payments in accordance with established procedures.
Opens mailed payments using the OPEX envelope opener.
Strictly follows established audit practices and procedures.
Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and fellow employees of Huntsville Utilities.
Presents a positive image of Huntsville Utilities by knowing how to perform all required job functions; presents a pleasant demeanor and professional image and by showing genuine customer focus.
Cross trains in various job functions in order to assist in accomplishing the workload of the Department and others within the Company.
Provides customer assistance during emergency conditions.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
Job Requirements

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

Experience in a banking/credit union environment or retail cash experience is preferred. Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately. Excellent grammar and communication skills along with ability to file and write legibly.

Equipment:

Proficient in the use of an adding machine, copier, fax machine. Familiarity with the use of personal computers is a plus, OPEX and scanning equipment is preferred.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

Sedentary work requiring repetitive motion in office environment; limited physical effort.

Other:

Credit Check required, subject to after hours on-call with the Emergency Telephone Team during power outages and Spanish communication skills desired. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on customer load and need.
