Production Worker-Packer Isoclima Specialty Glass 616 Selfield Rd, Selma, AL 36703

Overview:

Responsible for the handling of glass and various other products related to the glass industry. This position requires a lot of bending, twisting and reaching and will be standing and walking on a concrete floor wearing steel-toed shoes for long periods at a time. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

Key Tasks:

Pack all finished products securely to provide adequate protection during transit. Ensure all contents in a crate are accurately reflected on the crate tickets. Complete “Final Inspection Logs”. Inspect all glass before going into a crate to ensure acceptable quality and ensure product meets customer’s specifications. Identity defects or rejects immediately so glass can be re-issued if needed. Ensure all items in an order are accounted for. Complete all appropriate paperwork/ reports. Keep work area clean and neat and adhere to end of shift clean up policy. Follow all safety practices and procedures and wear all required PPE. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. Keep work area clean and neat.

Qualifications:

Self-Starter/Motivated. Internal/external customer enthusiasm. Critical Thinking Skills. Professional telephone and face-to-face contact with all customers and team members. Maintain a positive image of Isoclima/Global Security Glazing. Accurate and timely completion of all paperwork. Attention to detail. Must be able to read drawings and shop orders. Must be able to lift large/awkward (up to 50lbs) pieces of glass. Must be able to lift with co-workers in a safe manner. Must be able to communicate, both written and oral, with co-workers and management. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Must be able to successfully read a tape measure. Must maintain confidentiality in daily operations. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations. Solid analytical skills. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. For positions requiring access to technical data, Isoclima Specialty Glass may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce
