JOB OVERVIEW

The Packaging Associate is assigned responsibilities in one or more packaging areas to include clean room, school kits, special orders, sterile pack or picking. Additionally, they may also at times assist with the multi-vac, go-packer, auto-bagger and laser-etch as needed for the success of the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs tasks that may include: cleaning product; picking product for kits/orders; building kits for schools; preparing single/specialty orders; and/or working in other packaging stations with care and efficiency, maintaining required production levels. (70%) Ensures that all products, kits and/or orders are labeled correctly and prepared for shipping per company standards. (10%) Notifies quality when inspections are required and reports any issues to a supervisor. (5%) Completes all necessary paperwork prior to and after the completion of a work order. (5%) Maintains a clean and clutter-free work area. (10%) Performs other duties as assigned to ensure departmental goals are met.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in a relevant position, preferrable in a production environment desired

PREFERRED EDUCATION

High School degree or equivalent preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Ability to read, understand and perform standard procedures and work instructions. Basic mechanical skills desired. Basic math and logic skills required. Basic computer skills and software use (email, document prep, and spreadsheets) desired

TRAVEL / WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Travel – typically not required. Position typically works on site where environmental conditions are stable. May be exposed to higher levels of noise typical in a packaging environment. The position requires an above average amount of physical activity. While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, stretch, climb stairs, and may be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
