Description:

To support the overall mission of the organization through stacking and inspecting full totes, locating products from backstock to fill orders, clean the area during and at the end of the shift, communicate corrections and issues to the supervisor and assist other staff on the line with any needed tasks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Stack Totes Check totes as they arrive to ensure identification stickers are present and properly applied. Randomly inspect totes to verify product is wrapped and packed correctly. Stack totes on the pallets according to methods outlined by the supervisor. Separate totes on the appropriate pallet by route and stop. Ensure the conveyor is not backed up. Scan stacked totes to verify all totes for a load are present and locate any missing totes. Wrap and transport pallets to the correct area using a pallet jack in a safe and prompt manner. Assist with items initially scratched from orders Set totes aside that need additional products so stockers can fill the slots. Strap and place with correct pallet once the scratched products are placed in the totes. Cross Functional Relationship All warehouse task descriptions have a cross-functional relationship. Every employee is responsible for the safe operation and housekeeping in the warehouse. Cleanup Keep the end of the conveyor belt clear as the day progresses. Sweep the area at the end of the day. Remove empty boxes, damaged products and totes then place them in the correct location. Return good products to the stockers on duty for restocking and damaged product to the returns area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be in good physical condition with the ability to bend, lift, and carry boxes up to 50 pounds. Ability to understand simple math, including addition and subtraction. Ability to understand good memory patterns by quickly and easily finding needed totes. Ability to understand and demonstrate proper packing procedures, including heavy items on bottom and light or breakable items on top. Ability to understand sequential ordering and placement of orders in proper staging and placement of orders in proper staging area, insure first on is last off. Ability to load trailers to ensure safety of driver, merchandise and equipment. Ability to review invoice and check for order accuracy. Must have the ability to properly communicate with co-workers, supervisors and drivers of any issues, concerns or problems. Experience Preferred Use of pallet jack. The employee must frequently walk and occasionally talk or hear, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift 10 and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. The employee may occasionally work in wet humid conditions. Certain selectors must work in the refrigerator and the freezer. The selectors working in the freezer are provided with suits, gloves and face or head gear. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
