Job Description Receiver Direct Supervisors:
Operations Manager, Plant Manager Compensation:

Commensurate with experience

Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the purchasing manager by overseeing the receipt, storage, release, and accounting of all raw materials. The Receiver will ensure all control processes involved in the receiving, storage, internal transfer, and documentation of raw materials received are always operational. The receiver will always maintain and ensure a safe work environment.

Work Hours:

Monday – Friday, 6 AM to 2

PM Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Daily receipt, inspection, slotting and documentation of all raw material deliveries according to company policies and procedures
  • Daily management and organization of all raw material stores according to FIFO standards (First-In-First-Out)
  • Daily management and organization of all raw material stores to maintain accurate and visually understandable raw material lot code identification of all raw materials
  • Daily management and organization of raw material stores to maintain proper category segregation
  • Daily management and organization of raw material stores to maintain proper allergen segregation
  • Daily management and organization stores to maintain required sanitation standards
  • Verify receipts and packing slips against purchase orders to ensure accuracy, perform follow-up procedures on orders, and report damages, shortages and discrepancies.
  • Perform daily and periodic raw material inventories
  • Oversee the selecting and staging of materials for daily production needs
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment, current certification not needed, we will certify
  • Knowledge of proper physical lifting techniques
  • Knowledge of proper warehouse operational methods, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations
  • Knowledgeable in the safe and proper loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Ability to maintain storage areas and warehouse equipment in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner
  • Ability to apply, interpret and explain policies and procedures
  • Ability to plan and organize work
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Ability to maintain documentation and records
  • Ability to meet schedules and timelines
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Literacy in English both reading and writing is required
  • Basic computer literacy including Email and Microsoft Office Applications required Physical Abilities – The employee must be able to:
  • Lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to a maximum of 60 pounds with a strength factor of heavy work
  • Hear and speak to exchange information in person and on the telephone
  • See to read a variety of materials
  • Possess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment
  • Stand and walk, bend at the waist, kneel, or crouch
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Work for extended periods of time in refrigerated environments including freezers
  • Climb a step stool or ladder and reach above shoulders
Job Hazards:
  • Hazards associated with working with machinery, tools, electrical and motorized equipment, chemicals, and in temperatures associated with a warehouse and food distribution environment.
Plant Specific Requirements:

This position is within a HACCP monitored USDA Inspected Ready to Eat Manufacturing Facility. Therefore, certain personal items that could be brought into the facility are strictly prohibited from all production and storage areas to eliminate threats to food safety or allergen control.

These items include:
  • Glass, ceramic, or brittle plastic bottles, cups, containers
  • Peanuts or Tree Nuts of any kind
  • Prescription medications
  • Tobacco products Bilingual in English – Spanish, or English – Portuguese is helpful Non-smoking preferred Previous experience in the receipt and warehousing of perishable food is highly preferred
Job Type:

$22.50 – $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
