GENERAL SUMMARY

The Foam Packer is responsible for inspecting, bagging, labeling, and packing finished foam products while maintaining strict adherence to Darnel’s safety and quality standards. This role ensures that only compliant products are packed and that the work area remains clean, organized, and ready for continuous operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Inspection & Packing:

Visually inspect finished products for defects and ensure conformance to quality standards. Bag and pack items into boxes, ensuring each box is correctly labeled and neatly organized.

Communication & Quality Escalation:

Report product inconsistencies, quality issues, or material defects immediately to the Line Operator, Shift Lead, or Supervisor. Ensure that only the proper raw materials are used during packing.

Area & Materials Management:

Prepare and organize the packing area for the current and next shift. Ensure all packing materials and supplies are readily available and in good condition. Efficiently retrieve, transport, and grind scrap or off-quality products in accordance with operational procedures.

Production Support:

Assist with machine setup, cleaning, and preparation during changeovers or product transitions.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Warehouse & Housekeeping:

Palletize, stack, and shrink-wrap finished product as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment that meets AIB and internal sanitation standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Shift Lead, or Line Operator.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Visual acuity correctable to 20/20. Ability to visually distinguish colors (must not be colorblind). Repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs. from floor to waist height. Frequent bending, stooping, and prolonged standing (majority of the 12-hour shift). Use of utility knives and manual tools while following safety protocols.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Good lighting provided. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear protection, hairnets, gloves, and face shields when appropriate.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write, and understand English; must be able to perform basic math. Ability to use basic measurement tools. Must be able to make general decisions based on product quality, appearance, and count. Ability to work 12-hour

NIGHT SHIFT

(2-2-3 schedule).
