$37.4K – $43K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Forklift High school diploma or GED Math 1 year Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description This position uses gas, electric, or liquid propane powered forklifts to collect and deliver customer orders to a staging location, while adhering to good safety practices in carrying out duty. This position is responsible for locating, selecting, and palletizing finished goods for customer order completion. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor Distribution and follows prescribed guidelines and procedures in the performance of work activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Read and interpret picking route to determine items needed for the customer order. Locate customer order items in warehouse and pick those items from stock to accurately fill customer orders; understand specific customer requirements for orders. Scan item information (via RF scanners); verify item numbers and quantities. Place correct number of cases on customer pallet. Verify items picked to ensure that all accuracy and quality standards are met. Ensure each picking route is sufficiently marked for shorts. Stretch wrap pallets and apply appropriate pallet stickers. Organize locations by keeping them orderly and discarding trash. Performs all work in accordance with Barr’s safety and quality guidelines and procedures; demonstrates clear understanding of these safety and quality guidelines and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

One to two years’ experience in distribution or other environment demonstrating the ability to perform regular work assignments; high school diploma or G.E.D. required Must have attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines; must possess ability to work independently within established work procedures without direct supervision; must have demonstrated skills in communication, math, and reading; ability to work cooperatively as part of a team; demonstrated ability to understand all SOP’s and use them in the performance of work; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; mathematical aptitude; ability to meet and adhere to all attendance and hours of work requirements; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to work with hands; ability to operate forklift, shrink wrap machine and other equipment used in the warehouse; ability to work overtime as required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel:

Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, talk, hear and see for extended periods of time; ability to regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds (with appropriate equipment) and occasionally lift or move up to 70 pounds (with appropriate equipment); specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in routine situations. Ability work near moving machinery and/or in high precarious places; ability to have limited exposure to fumes or airborne particles and/or toxic or caustic chemicals; ability to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions; may be exposed to risk of electrical shock, vibration, and extreme heat or cold.
