Hiring for a Procurement Manager in Glastonbury! Job Description We are seeking a dynamic Procurement Manager to lead and coordinate the activities of personnel involved in strategically sourcing, procuring, and expediting the purchase of parts for aero-derivative industrial gas turbines, power turbines, and power plant equipment. This role involves sourcing raw materials, including forgings and castings, and overseeing the machining of pick-level parts. Responsibilities Manage and lead a team of buyers responsible for engine parts for FT8® and FT4000® gas turbine programs and power plant equipment. Identify, develop, and consolidate vendors to ensure competitive pricing. Oversee supplier relationships, focusing on delivery and quality performance, cost, and inventory management. Ensure timely execution of purchase orders and product delivery, mitigating terminations and achieving cost-reduction goals. Own delivery execution to meet production schedules. Collaborate with Programs and Operations groups including Materials, Production Planning, Logistics, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Legal, and Finance. Lead cross-functional teams to support cost, quality, and delivery metrics. Address and solve procurement-related problems. Build efficient working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers. Ensure team compliance with Procurement Manual and standard work procedures. Proactively participate in or lead efforts to achieve departmental, company, and individual goals and objectives. Contribute to building a positive team culture. Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels. Essential Skills Strong procurement and supply chain management skills. Experience in purchasing and inventory management. Proficiency in SAP and project management. Negotiation skills. 5+ years of managerial experience. Knowledge of aerospace industry and turbine engine components. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Proficiency in writing articulate reports and business correspondence. Strong proficiency in MS 365 applications, especially Excel. Substantial SAP experience. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business. Experience with Mitsubishi Power Aero products preferred but not required; experience with aero-derivative or heavy-frame gas turbine technology acceptable.
