This role ensures the timely acquisition of HVAC materials, equipment, and other services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and vendor quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the construction or HVAC industry and be skilled in vendor negotiation, inventory control, and project coordination. Responsibilities Evaluate the current purchasing processes and activities for efficiency and effectiveness and make recommendations to improve. Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost savings and ensure timely project execution. Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and warehouse staff to forecast needs and ensure material availability. Monitor the status of open purchase orders entity-wide, and assist with managing the timeliness of purchase order closure. Work with business units to maintain and monitor inventory levels to avoid overstock or shortages. Review purchase orders and contracts for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Track and report key procurement metrics (e.g., cost savings, lead times, vendor performance). Ensure compliance with internal controls and safety regulations. Continuously improving procurement processes and systems. Skills Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in the HVAC, construction, or mechanical contracting industry. Experience with procurement software and inventory systems.
