Negotiation Full Job Description Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Strategic Purchase Manager to oversee and manage the procurement process for All Weather Contractors, Inc. an ESOP owned company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for acquiring materials, equipment, and subcontractors necessary for the smooth operation of All Weather Contractors, Inc. This role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating prices, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining an organized inventory system to support project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy & Planning:

Develop and implement the procurement strategy to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Analyze project requirements and collaborate with project managers to forecast material and supply needs. Monitor market trends and make recommendations for alternative materials or suppliers to optimize costs.

Supplier Management:

Source and evaluate suppliers, ensuring they meet quality standards and project requirements. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the company. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring reliability and consistency in delivery. Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and resolve any issues that arise.

Purchasing & Inventory Control:

Oversee the purchasing process, ensuring the timely ordering and delivery of materials and equipment to meet project timelines. Manage inventory levels to avoid overstocking or shortages, and track usage to ensure proper allocation of resources. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient material storage and distribution.

Budget & Cost Management:

Monitor and manage procurement budgets for materials, supplies, and subcontractors. Track and report on cost-saving initiatives and ensure that procurement activities are aligned with financial targets. Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality or project requirements.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards related to procurement. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices. Prepare and submit regular reports to senior management regarding procurement activities, costs, and project progress.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

Lead and mentor a team of purchasing staff, providing guidance and ensuring the efficient operation of the procurement department. Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and other departments to ensure that procurement activities align with overall project goals. Participate in cross-functional meetings to support project planning and resolve product-related issues.

Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing in the construction industry. Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost control.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supply chain management, and inventory control. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a focus on attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. oProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Sage 300 CRE. Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and industry standards is highly desirable. Certifications (optional): Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar are advantageous.

Working Conditions:

Fulltime, onsite position with occasional travel to project sites or supplier locations. Flexible working hours depending on project requirements.
