SUMMARY:

As a Procurement Manager at True Grade, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our supply chain by strategically managing the procurement process. This includes identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibility of this Procurement Manager will be the strategic acquisition of meat and related products to meet the demands of our dynamic supply chain. However, it is essential to note that the scope of this role is subject to modifications based on the evolving needs of True Grade. The flexibility to adapt and contribute to various procurement activities beyond seafood purchasing may be required to align with the organization’s overall objectives.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Implement a proactive approach to anticipate spikes in demand and prevent stockouts.
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to gather accurate and timely demand forecasts for products. Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.
  • Utilize forecasting tools and historical data to predict demand patterns and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
  • Generate purchase orders based on approved requisitions and ensure accuracy of order details.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. (Cost, timeline, credit days, etc)
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers to enhance collaboration and performance.
  • Address and resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, etc.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Work closely with quality control teams to ensure that all procured goods and services meet established standards.
  • Implement measures to continuously improve product quality and supplier performance.
  • Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance procurement processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline procurement operations.
  • Generate regular reports on key procurement metrics and performance indicators.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse processes and minimize the risk of short items.
  • Encourage feedback from warehouse staff and utilize their insights to implement changes that improve overall accuracy.
  • Regularly review and update standard operating procedures to reflect industry best practices and changing business requirements.
  • Communicating with key stakeholders involved in the projects.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

KPIs Cost Savings Achievement:

The percentage of cost savings achieved through procurement activities, calculated by comparing the actual cost of goods or services procured to the estimated or benchmarked cost. This KPI measures the Procurement Manager’s success in negotiating favorable terms, securing competitive pricing, and implementing cost-saving initiatives, contributing to overall cost reduction and efficiency.

Supplier Performance Rating:

The rating or score assigned to suppliers based on their performance, payment terms, delivery timeliness, responsiveness, and adherence to contractual agreements. This KPI assesses the Procurement Manager’s ability to manage supplier relationships effectively, ensuring that suppliers meet or exceed performance expectations and deliver value to the organization.

Inventory Turnover Ratio:

The number of times inventory is sold or used within a specific period, calculated by dividing the cost of goods sold by the average inventory value. This KPI evaluates the efficiency of the Procurement Manager in managing inventory levels, optimizing stock turnover, and minimizing excess inventory holding costs.

Procurement Cycle Time:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in related field or equivalent
  • Project Manager Master Decree/Certification (preferred)
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
