SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Purchasing Manager responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of assigned products at the best cost. This individual will negotiate with suppliers, manage sourcing strategies, and maintain supplier performance to support long-term business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and supply chain management, with a focus on cost efficiency, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage relationships with assigned suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and service expectations are met. Ensure a continuous and timely supply of competitively priced products across assigned categories. Negotiate pricing, volume commitments, and supply agreements to optimize landed product costs at each distribution center. Execute and maintain contracts with suppliers, including developing supply agreements and pricing exhibits. Create pricing review schedules within internal systems and maintain compliance with established pricing procedures. Monitor pricing compliance and ensure transparency around modifications, discrepancies, and errors. Develop and implement objectives and strategic plans for assigned product categories. Conduct regular supplier reviews, including performance evaluations and financial assessments. Coordinate with internal departments to support product rollouts, promotional planning, and inventory depletion strategies. Monitor supplier production schedules and inventory levels on a weekly basis to mitigate supply disruptions. Create and manage timelines for promotional or new product launches and ensure all stakeholders are aligned. Communicate marketing and product activity to relevant suppliers. Provide additional support as needed to meet the priorities and evolving needs of the organization.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and present purchasing programs and strategies to internal leadership or committees. Maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and key stakeholders.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus. 4-6 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
