Commodity Manager, Travel We are seeking an experienced Travel Commodity Manager to support the Siemens Americas corporate travel program. As part of Siemens Supply Chain Management, the position will be part of the Mobility Services Travel Management team which manages travel for over 50,000 employees and is well recognized and respected within the business travel industry. The position requires the ability to work in a global environment and implement strategies that support global, regional, and local initiatives focused on sustainability, value, and resilience while driving operational excellence and innovation across Siemens core businesses and its employee base. #TransformtheEveryday In this role, you will work remotely from a home office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in global corporate travel management with a strong affinity for contract negotiations, data analytics, and core travel procurement activities such as request for proposals (RFPs) and detailed KPI reporting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continuous improvement, keeping up to date with travel industry trends to drive innovation and leverage best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic partnerships and supplier strategies for a best-in-class airline and ground transportation program.
- Contract negotiations and related contract management activities with key travel program suppliers including but not limited to airlines, car rental, meetings and events.
- Manage airline supplier program strategy and operational activities such as unused ticket funds and special promotions.
- Manage car rental program strategy and operational activities including traveler escalations.
- Develop ad-hoc pricing, forecasting, and analytical models.
- Solicit cost reduction ideas from suppliers and initiate follow up action to generate savings for the company.
- Supply Chain Management reporting activities including data quality management and methodology alignment with global stakeholders.
- Primary liaison to legal department for contract reviews and legal policy compliance.
- Work with the broader travel management team to support the roll out of new technologies
- Aligning supplier and procurement strategies with internal stakeholder needs including travel operations, and the travel technology ecosystem.
- Ensure sustainability is integrated into supplier programs.

Required Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree
- Five or more years of corporate travel management experience in a corporate buyer role including supplier contract negotiations (e.g. airline, car rental, hotel, meetings and events)
- Experience working with corporate travel management companies, online booking tools, travel and meeting supply base, and other travel technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of the airline industry from a corporate business travel perspective including an understanding of how legal contracts are structured.
- Functional knowledge of travel program foundations such as GDS, NDC, OBT, and TMC functionality.
- High level of analytical skills with ability to make effective business decisions
- Proficient with MS Office Suite with focus on Excel and PowerPoint.
- English Proficiency (written and verbal)
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree in business administration, hospitality, or related field.
- Experience with both group travel and transient travel program management including hotel sourcing, trade shows and events.
- Proven experience developing pricing models and ad-hoc financial analysis
- Extensive data analytics experience including use of various reporting tools such as Tableau, PredictX, and PowerBI.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
