The Purchasing Director will lead the procurement strategy for the organization, overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services to ensure the company meets its operational and financial goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in supplier negotiation, cost reduction, and inventory management. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Manage vendor relations to foster long-term partnerships and effective communication.
Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform purchasing decisions.
Oversee inventory management processes to optimize stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
Implement cost reduction initiatives to drive efficiency and profitability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, and operations to ensure alignment and efficiency in the supply chain.
Utilize ERP systems to track purchasing activities, manage budgets, and analyze spending patterns.
Conduct risk management assessments to mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
Lead demand planning efforts to ensure adequate supply to meet customer needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in retail or automotive sectors.
Proven track record in supplier negotiation and strategic sourcing.
Strong knowledge of inventory management and logistics processes.
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and MRP tools.
Excellent analytical and market analysis skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive cost reduction initiatives.
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Familiarity with purchasing practices in Asia, specifically China and Vietnam, is a plus.
