The Assistant Sourcing Manager supports the Strategic Sourcing Manager in the execution of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and raw material procurement activities across Fuji’s North American operations . This role is instrumental in optimizing the raw material pipeline and maintaining alignment with operational objectives, sustainability initiatives, and cost targets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to manage cross-functional collaboration across Procurement, Operations, Sales, QA, and Finance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Raw Material Procurement & Supply Chain Coordination Support the purchasing of raw materials for Fuji’s North American operations, including energy inputs such as electricity and natural gas. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials. Contribute to the development and maintenance of raw material supply chains, including managing freight rates and vendor lead times. Evaluate procurement needs, identify supply sources, collect bids, analyze proposals, and support contract negotiations within budgetary guidelines. Execute purchase contracts in compliance with Fuji’s internal controls and applicable regulatory requirements. Manage the collection, accuracy, and distribution of shipment documents for imported and domestic goods. Supplier Relationship & Performance Management Support identification of optimal suppliers based on total value (cost, quality, sustainability, logistics, market position). Monitor supplier adherence to contract terms, delivery schedules, and quality expectations. Conduct supplier meetings and visits to evaluate capabilities, build strategic partnerships, and support continuous improvement efforts. Investigate and assess alternative supply sources or new raw material options as needed. Market & Position Analysis Assist in conducting ongoing market assessments to inform purchasing decisions and strategy. Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations on market trends, forecasts, and recommendations to senior leadership. Support tracking and reporting of raw material pricing variances and exposure using SAP and other internal tools. Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing Manager and President to help establish position limits and report risk positions to senior management. Sustainability & Compliance Maintain documentation and tracking of MB/SG (Mass Balance/Segregated) sustainable raw material credits. Assist with sustainability-related audits (e.g., RSPO) and provide data and support to internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate sustainability reporting for internal use and external partners (e.g., Earthworm, SCM Singapore). Respond to customer inquiries related to sustainable sourcing programs and policies. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales to align raw material costs with margin and volume goals; maintain accurate SAP costing data and support error resolution. Engage with QA, R D, Production, and suppliers to evaluate and qualify new materials or vendors. Coordinate full-cycle purchasing activities from request to delivery, ensuring collaboration with Production, Accounting, and other departments. Participate in project planning, budget development, and execution of key strategic initiatives. Perform other duties or special projects as assigned to support department and business objectives.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required. 1-3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management preferred. Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP a plus), procurement best practices, and cross-functional team collaboration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and global counterparts. Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and report on data related to procurement, market analysis, and cost tracking.

This role operates in a professional office environment with moderate noise levels (open office, phones, etc.). Must be able to sit, stand, talk, and use a computer keyboard for extended periods.
